Sunday the 21st of September 2003. A welcome party for a new teacher and a new staff member.
The place, I could take you to, but the name escapes me, it is a venue I went to only once. This very night in fact.
Above we can see one of those new teachers at that time. Peter, the guy whose website has been mentioned! Then
it was only 11pm so everyone was warming up save poor Peter who may well have been tanked when the pic was taken.
The 23rd of September 2003 at 10:07 pm. I believe the place was ACB Karaoke in Tenjin which was and is my
main Karaoke haunt, the first I visited and as all who know me know, I`m intensely brand loyal.
The Occasion was a goodbyem a farewell, a shindig with plenty of shin and quite a lot of digging. Liani`s (who
we met earlier) leaving singathon.
Here we see myself and Ray, I`m obviously in good spirits and song is a duet, I`m worked up and ready to let fly with
whatever the song was. Anyone any ideas?
This is Clare or maybe Claire she is from Yorkshire, but I tried not to hold it against her. At the time she lived
in the same `company` apartment as Liani and Leisa to the right. This pic was taken at 10:10 so the night was quite
young at that point.
The 5th of October 2003, here we can see Mark and a member of staff now sadly no longer at my home school, Yoshiko.
As i sit here putting these pics on I realise that is cool, knowing the time and location (ACB Karaoke :) ), but it would
be really cool to be able to say what the song was at that time.
Mark has a love of the 80`s stuff (it is both of our formative memories.) so it could be anything from Tarzan Boy to
Duran Duran. Or even a Japanese song.

This is the aforementioned new staff member at the time, Yasuko. Can you make out what song she was singing?
The pic was taken at 11:16 pm, Peter was on the floor by this point. LOL
she is infact singing something by the Carpenters and by golly she sang it well!
As if by magic or at the very least the aid of a digicam here is a picture of Liani on that very same last night singing
something sultry no doubt - it may have even been a No Doubt song. The time? 11:23 pm. Does Ray look a
little worse for the wear after an hour of singing, smoking and drinking? I know not.
Incidentally, these four pics encompass two days! We do love to sing down here!

Please feel free to speculate on the night, the songs, the drinks, the headaches the next day.
This pic was taken at 11:34 pm, probably just before I left hurriedly and ran for the last train, not sure if I missed
it that night.
We can see Pam (who is from Burnley as well), singing her heart out. We can also see Mark exhibiting one of the
other faces of Karaoke, studying the few English songs for that one that you always wanted to sing but never found.
I`ve yet to find anything by Harry Connick Jr! But there are Monty Python songs.
Other faces of Karaoke are smoking, drinking and occasionally rowing. People`s taste is different as are there
expectations of people putting up with there terrible singing.
